Lu Jong: Indo-Tibetan Yoga
The Western separation of body and mind is not helpful for meditation practice and only serves to lead meditators away from an integrated approach to spirituality. In Tibet, Buddhist practice involves physical movement and full sensory engagement. These Indo-Tibetan yoga practices are specifically designed to reinvigorate a meditational practice that may have become a little static. |

The Practicalities of the Buddhist Path
Buddhism should not be misunderstood for an impractical or 'other-worldly' philosophy. The Buddhist middle view is a very practical perspective on the world and it can and should be used to understand and respond to everyday life situations with concern and consideration. The Buddhist path involves engaging with the world in a real way; with its politics, its environmental issues, its human rights and social justice issues. Buddhists should not be indifferent to these things. We cannot simply dismiss life's complications by saying 'everything is emptiness' and therefore does not matter. These things are important and we do need to take them seriously. |

Integral Buddhism
Traditional Buddhist practices include body, mind, arts, crafts, meditational practices; using senses and voice to stabilize and awaken the mind. We have very deep-seated and entrenched habits around how we see things. Buddhism teaches that the way to clarify our experiences is to not take everything we experience at face value. Many of our problems are produced by thinking about our experiences too much. When we do that, we may get a distorted version of whatever it is that we think has occurred. Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche will offer teachings on the Buddhist philosophical and psychological perspective on dealing with our experiences in a more integrated way. |

Integral Buddhism
The body and mind exist in intimate relationship and the importance of exercises such as meditation, yoga and pranayama—that help to marry mind and body—cannot be over-estimated. Learning to be in touch with our true nature requires dealing with psychological and physical issues so that we can increase the pliancy of both body and mind. We need to gain a greater understanding of ourselves in a variety of behaviours and circumstances and Rinpoche will present a number of exercises and tools for developing a more spacious and accommodating approach to both pleasant and unpleasant experiences. Integral Buddhism is about working with our mental factors to gradually establish a strong foundation on which to build a ‘new you.’ |

Integral Buddhism
We clarify our experiences by not taking everything we experience at face value and by not thinking too much, because this only creates a distorted version of whatever it is we are experiencing. We can learn to look beyond appearances and break our fixations by balancing body and mind in an integrated system of spiritual practices. |
